Boston Arts Festival 2015 - An Annual Waterfront Tradition
Music, Shopping & Performance at Boston Arts Festival
Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park
September 5th & 6th
A local tradition since the 1950s, this late-summer community fair draws over 50,000 people to scenic Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park for two days of performance and art from more than 70 area vendors. The Boston Art Festival is the perfect place to find original home décor like pottery, sculpture, and woodwork, as well as a wide array of mixed media, photography, paintings, and bold fashion statements.
World-Class Musical Acts on Boston Harbor
In addition to handmade jewelry, arts and crafts, the event playfully known as the Boston "Ähts" Festival also features a pair of outdoor stages for some of today's hottest bands to get the crowds dancing. While this year's line-up is yet to be determined, past performers include:
• Mean Creek
• Blue Man Group
• Boston Lyric Opera
• Boston Pops Ensemble
• Boston Gay Men's Chorus
• Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings
Something for Everyone
Days worth of live music and shopping are just the tip of the cultural iceberg, as the waterfront fills with a colorful selection of other performances, such as gorgeous dance numbers by Boston Ballet, storytelling and poetry readings from The Moth, glass-blowing demonstrations by Diablo Glass, interactive art exercises with the Mayor's Mural Crew, and fun for the whole family provided by the Boston Children's Museum. Best of all, your luxury suite at InterContinental Boston is only half a mile away.
