Fisherman's Feast: Italian Street Celebration in Boston's North End
With roots that date back to the year 1300, Boston's Fisherman's Feast is one of the city's famous Italian street festivals that takes place each summer in the North End. On August 17-20, the block party returns to Fleet, Louis, and North Streets for four days of food, fun, and religious celebrations.
Italian Street Cuisine, Blessings, and Grand Procession
Beginning with the Blessing of the Fishing Waters at Christopher Columbus Park on Thursday at 6:00 p.m., Fisherman's Feast launches into a heady street festival with Italian foods, live musical performances, and religious processions. The biggest parade will step off at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, but you'll find smaller processions throughout the weekend. There will also be carnival games, children's activities, marching bands, and more.
