Copley Square (1.3 miles) 560 Boylston St, Boston, MA 02116
October 13, 2018
Free (some events are ticketed) Every October over 12,000 writers and readers have overtaken Copley Square for a free literary festival like none other in town. In honor of the power of language to change the world one word at a time, the Boston Book Festival celebrates all things printed and published. Aspiring writers practice their craft at workshops offered throughout the 3 days of festivities, while kids love the Passport to Imagination activity area, and everyone enjoys the live music on Berklee Stage, with local food vendors preparing delicious signature dishes on-site. The entire event is structured like a street fair, as various publishers and literary publications fill the Square, such as Grub Street, Harvard Review, Barefoot Books, Boston Review, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, The New School, The New York Times, Post Road, Zephyr Press, Ploughshares, and SoHo Press.
In addition to inspiring workshops, live entertainment, mouthwatering food, and exhibitors galore, there are also over 150 world-renowned writers and literary presenters at the festival, speaking to audiences in venues such as Trinity Church, Old South Church, and Boston Public Library. The presenter details would be announce soon.
