Walk Ten Minutes to Explore Marine Life at the New England AquariumGet up-close and personal with aquatic animals and marine life at this engaging and inspiring aquarium experience in Boston. Dive in and meet the harbor seals, exotic fish, and sea lions, then catch an IMAX film at the Simons IMAX Theatre for a complete 3-D experience. In the center of the main building is the Giant Ocean Tank, the New England Aquarium's most popular attraction. The tank contains 200,000 gallons which simulates a Caribbean coral reef and houses sharks, stingrays, sea turtles, eels and many other species of marine life. Some of the other popular exhibits include Penguin Power, Marine Mammals in Motion, Turtles Uncovered, Sharks and Rays, and Killer Instincts.
Other activities include live presentations and feedings, and whale watching expeditions. Visitors can interact with animals in the Shark and Ray Touch Tank which features star fish, lobsters, sea urchin and hermit crabs. The New England Aquarium is less than ten minutes from the hotel on the waterfront, easily walkable from the InterContinental Boston.
