10 STAR Birthday Trip
This property has class of course, friendliness I did not expect, great location, super comfortable beds and pillows. I hate to borrow another brands mantra, but this place deserves it in a much bigger way, "Whatever, Whenever!!!" We were celebrating my daughters birthday and even with high occupancy they kept making her feel special. Adam at the concierge desk was terrific help before and during our visit. Luis, Steven and Caroline and others were all great as well. The only baby slip at all was the bar. I am an Astros fan. When playing Yankees they put me in back room where the chairs were way less comfortable. This was a MLB play off game. I am not sure if the problem was the Astros or maybe the rivalry with the Yankees. People should honor and respect passion for the sport. I was pulling for Red Socks in 2013. You had no trouble finding the Socks game on every place in Texas that matters through the entire playoff process. I could really feel an "us against them emotion". Unfortunate and unprofessional. And yes others sat back in the back with me and yes others wanted to but could not deal with the searing options and overall location away from the bar. They would stand there and look and our TV and over at the main bar area and finally just decided to forfeit their opinion to watch Astros/Yankees game:(. This emotion was not seen ANYWHERE ELSE ON THE PROPERTY EXCEPT THE BAR! The Fenway Park tour was fantastic. I have inc a few pic of tour. When we return to Boston, we can not imagine staying anywhere else. I wish there were more Incontinental Hotels to stay at in US. Loved the place and the people! D Kar
Thoroughly enjoyed the location of the hotel. It is located near to some great restaurants and just a short walk to the shops and historical sites and is also quiet even though it is central. Very clean as you would expect and very pleasant staff throughout. Natasha who greeted us on our arrival was extremely helpful to my wife and I throughout our stay and offered plenty of advise on what to see and do in Bosto
We just spent the weekend in Boston for our anniversary and the Intercontinental did not disappoint. From the moment we checked in, we were greeted with a smile and treated like we were the most important people there. We stopped at the concierge desk a few times while there and they were always helpful and happy to help. The weather wasn't the best while there, it was cold, wet and rainy but they were prepared with umbrellas for anyone who needed them. Service was top notch. Thank you for making our trip even more special
Stayed for one night with wife and 2 children and had a wonderful time. When I checked in I had been upgraded to a larger/nicer room with a harbor view. The rooms were very nice especially the bed and pillows. Fruit, a box of chocolates, and water was delivered promptly after check-in. Had a large desk looking out the window to the water. Beautiful view. Had a large flat screen tv. The bathroom had a large tub and glass shower. All of the amenities were nice too, including sewing kit, umbrella, hair dryer and all of the rest of the amenities you would expect from an upscale hotel. The hotel has a very nice indoor pool on the 2nd floor that my son loved and the big glass windows give you a nice view of the city buildings. The hotel's location is great, close to aquarium, waterfront and Quincy Market. Would definitely reccommend
So much potential but not quite up to the expected standards
We travel a lot, on business or with family, and take extra special care in choosing our hotels after endless research. Based on the reviews of this place, we seem to just have been unlucky. We booked for a kid free 3 day break in a King harbour view. Our request 5 months in advance for a high room wasn't honoured, but never mind. We had let them know in advance that we were there to celebrate our 11 year wedding anniversary, so they treated us with some strawberries and a bottle of Prosecco, which was a delightful and welcome touch. The staff on the front desk in general were extremely pleasant and helpful. The room was spacious and clean with a lovely (but not high) view, and one of the most comfortable beds we've ever had the pleasure of sleeping in. However on the first night we asked for some milk to be able to enjoy the black tea provided in our room, and over the course of an hour were brought a bags full of coffee creamers (twice) and even a glass of warm milk from room service, with a hefty service charge (which we rejected but still ended up on our bill!). All we wanted was a capsule of milk - and even that was lost in translation. We gave up in the end, as we'd also asked for a second black tea (we had only one) and that never arrived. On the second day we asked the concierge for milk again, to be told to "just go to the bar and ask for it yourself" - a little rude but did the job. Housekeeping was generally a little inconsistent. Over 3 nights / 4 days we were turned down only once, despite departing the room from 19:00 and marking the door ‘please make up the room' when we left. Over these 4 days we got 2 bottles of water. Plus our used prosecco glasses and plates were left in there for 2 days - we had to leave them outside the room in the end just to get rid of them. We tried to have a drink each night in the bar but the place is packed full with corporate clients. On one night we could barely get through the reception without drunk scantily clad women staggering through and screeching. It seems as though it is one of those hotels that relies on the income from conferences and corporate events at the detriment of the customer service experience that paying hotel guests receive. Still - there's probably far more money in it for them. This was our first IHG hotel and probably the last. It was such a shame - the hotel is attractive and in a fabulous location, with good rooms (albeit a little dated but we never expect the most modern decor in the USA), it was just missing the icing on the customer service cake
We just visited Boston from Los Angeles for the first time and we had no clue where to stay. I read other reviews about the Intercontinental and decided to give it a try. AMAZING!!!! If you are not sure where to stay, stay here!!!! We were greeted at the desk by Jeremy who was outstanding and treated us like kings! So friendly and welcoming. Then we met Tanvir who brought our luggage to us. He was so kind and friendly and also made us feel at home. The next day we met Humberto who gave us recommendations on places to go. Our stay was unforgettable. We had delicious pizza and drinks at Rumba. I can't say enough about this hotel and it's fine people! Thank you for an unforgettable experience!! We will always come back here
